Locations Found & History:

Sahara Desert (Libya) is the only source. Libyan Glass is believed to have been formed when a meteorite hit the Western Desert and sent molten rock and sand into the stratosphere creating the crystal. It was treasured by the ancient Egyptians for ritual jewelry to bring the Sun God to Earth. It formed part of the protective heart scarab that guided Tutankhamun into the afterlife.

Rarity, Value & Variations:

Rare, although it is increasingly available (but may be artificially manufactured). Libyan Glass is a variety of Tektite which is meteoritic glass created from the massive heat of a meteorite impact with the Earth. The heat is so extreme that both the meteorite and the Earth's surface melt, and Tektite is formed as the mixture of space material and Earth cool together. Also called Libyan Gold Tektite, Libyan Desert Tektite.

How to Use Libyan Glass:

Use in meditation to reach and maintain peak experience. Place or wear as appropriate. For accessing information or inducing visions, place Libyan Glass over the Third Eye (Brow) Chakra.
