Turn the point in your hand and a band of light slides across its golden stripes. This shimmer is called chatoyancy, or the cat's eye effect.
Tiger's eye is a member of the quartz family, made mostly of silicon dioxide. It forms by pseudomorphism: fibrous blue crocidolite is replaced by golden-brown to reddish-brown quartz that keeps the original fibres' shape, and those fibres catch the light.

A solar plexus stone of courage and strength.
In crystal tradition, tiger's eye is a stone of courage, confidence and protection, said to help you act boldly and meet challenges with confidence. It is believed to enhance intuition and inner wisdom, to bring balance and a grounded calm that eases fear and anxiety, and it is linked with the solar plexus chakra, the seat of personal power and self-esteem. Crystal points are said to amplify energy, bring clarity, support spiritual connection and help with manifestation.
The stone takes its name from its likeness to a tiger's eye. In ancient times it was carried as a talisman of courage and strength, thought to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune, and folklore held that wearing it sharpened the senses and intuition. It has been loved across cultures for centuries.
Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
