WHAT IS AVENTURINE? Aventurine is a captivating variety of Quartz adorned with shimmering specks of mica, imparting a mysterious sparkle. While green is the most common color, Aventurine also occurs in an array of enchanting hues such as blue, yellow, brown, white, gray, orange, and red. This gemstone's fascinating name has an intriguing origin. In the 18th century, a jewelry maker's accidental addition of metal filings into melting glass resulted in a beautiful, iridescent material. This "accidental" sparkling glass was used to craft jewelry, later receiving the name Aventurine.
